So, I've been doing physical therapy every other week for the past 2 months. I am down to my last two appointments and I'm feeling great! They have given me a bunch of exercises to help loosen up all my muscles because it turns out every muscle in my body has been freakishly tight. So my muscles are nice and loose when I remember to do my exercises (which I never remember to do). Anyways, my physical therapist started taping my back with Kinesio tape. So if you ever see a hot pink "X" on my back that's why. It helps me to hold my shoulders back and have good posture. It has also kept my headaches away for the most part and I'm also sleeping through the night when my back is taped (Which hasn't happened in months). I'm honestly sad that I'm almost done with Physical therapy because I've honestly enjoyed it (That may or may not be because I go to Children's Mercy and I have two of the best Physical Therapists).
I have also started stretching my counseling appointments out to two weeks instead of every week. I am starting to have less social anxiety (and anxiety in general) and stress. So I'm definitely starting to make progress!
On Thursday, I had my Neurology appointment downtown at Children's Mercy. I am now only having headaches 1-2 times a week instead of 3 times. Which yes that's still a lot of headaches, but I'll take 1-2 over 3 or more any day! My neurologist told me to start using my Cefaly daily as a headache preventative to hopefully get rid of my headaches completely. She also told me that if my headache ever gets really bad and the meds I have at home don't work to call and they'll get me meds so that I don't end up in the ER. This made me really happy and I'm hoping we never have to make that call. But, the best news is I DON'T HAVE TO GO BACK FOR 6 MONTHS! This makes me so happy because I know slowly but surely I'm making progress!
So this past week, I went to my favorite store Encore (I think I end up there at least once a week... Sorry not Sorry!), and bought a really cute orange plaid dress that I've had my eyes on for about a week. Last night after work, my mom and I went to Joann's and bought some fabric and lace to make the dress a little more me. Then at about 9 last night, I started pinning and sewing the fabric. Early this morning, my mom and I finished the dress! We added lace to the pocket and to the edge of the dress.
The finished product! Ignore my awkward face, apparently
I was talking when my mom took this picture haha :)
So overall, I am doing great and I'm finally getting used to my new normal! I am happy and loving life. :)
